ALS- A Love Story Act by Dr.Salil Kamath and Family & Motivational Talk for ALS/MND patients & their families by Dr.Hemangi Sane
Asha Ek Hope Foundation raised funds from ALS awareness event that included a dancerecital ‘Amar Prem’ and one act play “A Love Story”. The play “A Love Story” is written byDr. Manisha Kamat & directed by Salil Kamat with sound management by Rucha Kamat.Rucha, a 10th grader who completed her Kuchipudi dance graduation at an early age of 14in the USA, also performed a Kuchipudi dance recital ‘Amar Prem’. The Kamat family hasbeen closely witnessing ALS of their cousin for the past 9 years. “A Love Story” one act playis an attempt to spread awareness in the community about this devastating disease “ALS”.The message shared with the audience is that ALS not only affects nerve cells and musclesof the patients, but it affects family, friends, co-workers and communities around them. Dr.Manisha, Salil and Rucha have been working with local communities to organize this play invarious countries to raise funds for local ALS associations. These funds will be primarilyused for ALS research and for creating an atmosphere of hope in the community thatrestores dreams and builds courage.
