Dr. Hemangi Sane, M.D. (Internal Medicine, USA) Founder, President
Dr. Hemangi Sane is the founding president of “Asha Ek Hope” her unique board and sensitive outlook comes from her experience as a clinician, researcher and as a patient herself. In 2004, during her medical practice in New York, she was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). In 2009, she underwent stem cell therapy in India which stabilized her condition, along with symptomatic improvements. She has taken a step further to support patients with ALS, and founded a non-profit organization “Asha Ek Hope foundation for MND/ALS” She envisions an independent and better quality of life for patients with ALS/MND. Her positivity, compassion and enthusiasm are an inspiration to others She obtained MBBS degree from the prestigious GS Medical College & KEM Hospital, Mumbai University Then she post graduated with MD, degree in Internal Medicine from the renowned New York Medical College, USA.
She is Deputy Director and Head of Research and Development at Neurogen Brain and Spine institute, Mumbai. With an experience of more than 15 years, she has more than 45 scientific publications and co-authored for medical books and magazines on the role of Stem Cell Therapy. She is also a member of Institutional Committee of Stem Cell Research and Therapy at Sion Hospital, Mumbai. The International Association of Internists has recognized Dr.Hemangi Sane as one of the leading Physicians of the World, 2013-2014. She was honored with International Women’s Day Award in the year 2013, by the Mayor of Mumbai city; she dedicated towards helping and empowering patients with ALS/MND; and findings a cure for ALS/MND through research.
